I used to wake up feeling stressed before I even got out of bed. My mind was already racing with to-do lists, things I’d forgotton to do, and just… everything. It felt like I was stuck in this loop of worry that wouldn’t let go. Even before my feet touched the floor, I felt tired and tense.
A friend of mine, she’s always been into meditation stuff, told me to try just sitting still for a few minutes each morning and taking slow breaths. At first, I thought it sounded kinda silly, like how is sitting and breathing gonna fix my whole life? But I figured I had nothing to lose.
I started doing it every morning—just a few minutes of deep breaths, eyes closed, and letting myself be still. And honestly? It actually helped. Not like a magic fix or anything, but it gave me a little moment of calm before the chaos of the day started. It’s almost like giving myself permission to just exist without fixing anything.
I’m learning now that I don’t have to carry everything all the time. I can take breaks, breathe, and let go of the stuff that’s not mine to hold. It’s still a process, but I feel a little more in control each day. I guess small steps really do add up.
